Creepers
As I laid there looking on in amazement at the actual size of the tire I realized that the ringing was indeed coming from the fact that my head had tried to put a dent in the concrete, it did not. It was not the way I planned on starting the day but you know HA HA HA, it was my fault after all leaving the creeper on the floor instead of hanging it back in its spot. Just clean the windows in the backhoe and stepped down or so I had planned, I imagine it would have looked quite comical from a by standers point of view. Windex and paper towel flying though the air with a pair of blue coveralls and work boots all up in the air at the same time with the creeper doing warp factor chicken toward the tool box. One big THUD and it was over, it did seem like a couple minutes past while I was up there, had time to contemplate the fact that maybe I not bounce like I used to AND that tightly laced boots are a good thing as the ringing in my ears was soon replaced with the throbbing of a very twisted ankle.
What do you use as a creeper in your shop ? I have used everything from cardboard to the fancy snap on ones and they all work great to some degree or another. I have ran over my own hair ( yes I know it was a couple days ago, like 9126 of them ) and over the trouble light cord. These body sized skate boards do a great job when the floor is clean and swept with out any debris just laying around, rocks, wrenches, pliers, grease guns ect. They do make crawling around under equipment SO much nicer than laying on the shop floor, much warmer also if you do not have in floor heating, greasing becomes fun again as you replay movie scenes underneath drive shafts and rear axles and all you are missing is the whip ( you know you do HA HA HA, or now you will ) . Coveralls stay so much cleaner also as you do not lay in the dust . Once in awhile they do things a little different and ad features you did not know you really needed until you opened it up and took it for a spin across the shop floor, cup holders, tool trays, extra wheels, sunk in platforms for the thicker in the middle folks . but the tried and true lay on the foam covered wood sheet 4 wheels and away you go does most of the work I will ever need it to do. I could not do as much with out this great little wheeled wounder just laying around waiting to take me on another little ride.
Hope you enjoyed this one and let be safe in the shop, lots of stuff to cause us grief that we do not need..
