Oils Well

So doing the fall service on my better halfs jeep the other day  you know checking this and that , rotating tires , lubing the old chassis .

Once I had it up on the stands it was fairly easy to get to most items --  Like front diff. U-Joints, transfer case, tranny and rear diff. ( Mental note here : Not all the same check bolts)

After like 4-5 times up-down and under , you know cause the wrench don’t fit, the wrong socket -- need the extension, OH YEA My absolute favorite -- 1 pump left in the grease gun LOL ( there will be a whole page on this later ) . Finally down to the last check , the transmission. Need longer fingers cause its low , my big tranny pump will not reach as it is just parked right -- AND I have not restocked with the new AMSOIL Packets ( Product page here ) for tranny oil -- SOOOO quick check , oil CHECK , hose top CHECK -- HOSE --- CHECK  and there you have it the 1l bottle and hose trick .

Now anyone that has done this knows that there are only 2 positions that this works with and one of them requires rock crushing hand strength from the bottom, you know where you can squeeze the jug to nothing with one hand -- For the record , not me . So the next would be the over the hole and let gravity do what it does best, of course helping with HE-MAN strength jug squeezing. The hose fit nicely over the spout and thinking ahead , you know cause I do that, grab 2 l of oil and under I go.

And, for the record, I have done this more than once or twice so easy peasy right -- WELL first ½ jug no issue but better check , pull the hose out and nope still no sign of oil that I can reach ?? OK add more , just as I squeeze the bottle the hose decides it needs to go it’s separate way and lets said oil stream out in the direction of right eye and side of face -- MOUTH closed -- My bad did not check hose attachment .. Install hose with a tad ( technical term you know ) more force than the first attempt. Finish first jug hook up second jug and away we go .. You know with a fresh jug you can REALLY get ahold of it and SQUEEZE --- A little different angle gave me that extra bit O grunt that is required to send hose north and oil south -- at an alarming rate I might add , Both eyes face and partial mouthwash head bang and mechanical vocabulary . And now hose will not stay on as it has been freed and enjoys it!

Very long story short -- Finished said check up in under flat rate time as long as you do not count the tranny top up LOL

Jeep is ready to roll for winter.
